Married and Back at Home

On July 26, 2009, Dirk and I were married in California. What a joy!

We were blessed with many relatives and friends who flew from all around the world (Netherlands, Canada, Colorado, Arizona) to join us for this beautiful day. It went very well (except we found out later that the bouquets had died that morning and had to be redone!), it turned out to be the perfect location for our outdoor wedding.

A couple days later, Dirk and I flew to Maui for our week and a half long honeymoon. We went snorkeling, took a boat out to a nearby island and saw lots of fish (including the Humuhumunukunukua'pu'a'a), drove around the winding Hana Highway, and saw my half-brother and his mom. We were doing things everyday, but we also did get a chance to relax and rest at our condo overlooking the sea. It was a great time that we really enjoyed.
Now we are back home in the Netherlands getting our new home organized, going back to work, and adjusting to married life! Please be praying for this upcoming year in ministry for me, as the students begin to arrive again this week, for Dirk as he is also returning to work and figuring out how to balance all the cool projects and ideas he has with married life, and for us as a newly married couple.
